A'ZHAE TURAY

A’Zhae Turay, a Santa Clara University junior from San Jose, CA, is pursuing a major in Mechanical Engineering while minoring in Aerospace Engineering and Music. His passion for music began with the trombone in the fourth grade, and evolved with his discovery of the piano in the fifth grade, where he gravitated toward classical pieces. A’Zhae has showcased his musical talents across various platforms, including jazz band competitions, the California Theatre, the Music Teachers Association of California Honors concert, an appearance on the Today Show with Hoda and Jenna, and an appearance on Nickelodeon’s “Ryan’s Mystery Playdate.”

 

At SCU, he participates in the Jazz, New Music, and Wind Ensembles. Just recently, A'Zhae won the university's Concerto/Aria Competition, gaining an opportunity to perform Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" with the accompaniment of the SCU Wind Ensemble. Beyond music, A’Zhae aims to pursue a career in Aerospace Engineering.
